Yesterday evening the FCSO had our annual office meeting regarding our previous years statistics and to discuss how to continue to improve and adapt to our ever changing career for the betterment of our citizens.

We also use this time to recognize outstanding performances over the last year.

This years recipients for awards were Jail Sgt. Genell Nelms for “Employee of the Year” and Deputy Rick Howerton for “Deputy of the Year”.

Sgt. Nelms is very dedicated to her job and her co-workers. She’s always available to lend a helping hand and willing to do whatever is needed to get the job done and done right.

Deputy Howerton has been a consistent and dedicated employee for years. He cares for the people and communities of our county and it shows in how he carries out his duties for our office and as he serves at our county courthouse.

Help us congratulate these fine employees we are lucky to have serving our county.

We had another good year in 2021 despite another year of Covid and manpower shortage, and we are already looking really good for 2022.

We’ll keep working hard and do the best we can for our citizens. Thank you for your continued support and appreciation for your county law enforcement.

Early afternoon yesterday, CID Sgt. After many hours of surveillance and gathering of intel, the fugitive was observed in Fairfield, driving his girlfriend’s vehicle while the girlfriend was in the vehicle as the passenger. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle, and the male fugitive was taken into custody unharmed, without issues. Inside the vehicle were two loaded semi automatic 9mm pistols in the front seat area and a pistol grip 12g shotgun was located in the trunk.

The male felony fugitive was placed under arrest for 3 outstanding felony warrants of :

–Assault Impede Breath/Circulation Family Member

–Manufacturer/Delivery Controlled Substances PG1 =>4G<200G

–Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon

He was then additionally charged with another count of Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon for the firearms found inside the vehicle during this arrest.

The girlfriend was also arrested for Felony Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution of a known Felon, due to her knowing her boyfriend was a wanted fugitive and being sought by law enforcement.

Don’t do the crime, nor try to hide those that do. We’ll be coming for ya. Good work.
