Pat Narduzzi praises Kedon Slovis for using transfer portal 'the right way' amid Jordan Addison drama

Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi didn't exactly take a shot at Jordan Addison in his recent remarks about the college football transfer portal, but he also kind of did.

Addison, the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner as the nation's best wide receiver, entered the portal recently, with USC reportedly emerging as a likely landing spot.

Which, in turn, resulted in a phone call from Narduzzi to USC coach Lincoln Riley that wasn't exactly a friendly chat, and Pitt officials accusing Southern Cal of tampering.

Now, Narduzzi is going public with his views on the transfer portal, using incoming Pitt quarterback Kedon Slovis (who transferred in from USC this offseason) as an example of the "right way" and the "real way" to transfer.

And while the coach didn't single out Jordan Addison by name, it's clear he thinks the receiver is doing it the wrong way.

"He [Slovis] wasn't looking for a payday. He was looking for the right place to be, with a great culture," Narduzzi said.

"He's a guy who actually went into the (NCAA transfer) portal the real way, the right way. He had a lot of opportunities with name, image, and likeness, but I think he was looking for the right fit. He was looking for the right personnel. We had a lot returning on offense."

Definitely a little shade thrown Addison's way as he looks to a possible future not wearing a Pittsburgh uniform.

In it, Addison led college football with 17 touchdown receptions last season off 100 receptions for 1,593 yards in tandem with Heisman finalist quarterback Kenny Pickett.

His TD and catch numbers are second-best in Pitt history, behind just Larry Fitzgerald.

College Football HQ ranks Addison as the consensus No. 1 player available in the transfer portal this offseason.
