SUMTER COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA) -- The President and CEO of the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce says officials are diligently "working with all parties" to help residents deal with a water boil advisory for Americus.
Amber Batchelor states that the West Central Health District continues to respond to the issue.
Batchelor states that the Chamber is in touch with every local restaurant to ensure that they will temporarily be using bottled water, disposable cutlery, and limited menus.
There's is help from the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce available. They are working with a regional water distributor to get water to residents in need.
The Chamber is also working with the United Way of Southwest Georgia to help workers be compensated for tips lost during any closures.
"It is a small amount however, it is something and we will work to get those funds distributed soon. We will be in touch," Batchelor states.
