Teddy Daniels vindicated in court today, after a protective order filed against the Republican candidate for lieutenant governor by his wife was dropped in Wayne County Court. In the PFA filed last month, she said Daniel’s verbally abused, stalked, and threatened her and her son. The order banned Daniels from entering their home in Lake Ariel, seeing his son, and forced him to turn over his guns.
“Justice has been served," said Teddy Daniels as she claimed victory after Judge Janine Edward’s dismissed a protective order filed against him by his wife.
“Thank God, we have a justice system in this country. I got hit with these allegations and it kind of just completely blew my mind. I didn't even have to present my defense. They presented their case in court today, and it was dismissed. You know, there's a lot of folks who were telling me I need to drop out. A lot of folks telling me I need to quit. Quitting is not in me. When I'm right. I'm going to stand. And that's what I did today.”
After more than two hours of testimony from his wife and a witness she called, the judge dismissed the case against Daniels due to a lack of evidence necessary to meet the burden of proof to grant the order. Daniels did not have to testify or call any of his witnesses.
During the testimony his wife alleged that Daniels threatened her after police came to their house last month, saying he would put a bullet in one of the people he blamed for calling them, and even her if he found out she was behind it.
Daniels denies all allegations, calling them politically motivated to sabotage his campaign, citing a specific article from Rolling Stone.
“So many outlets echoed the lies put out by Rolling Stone. You want to know why they're not going after anybody else in my race, because they're not afraid of anybody else in my race. That's why I'm the threat to the establishment. I'm going to be the next Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania, and they just took their best shot at me," said Daniels.
Daniels is running among 9 GOP candidates vying for the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor in the May 17th primary election. He has been endorsed by Doug Mastriano, who is one of the front runners in race to be the Republican candidate for Governor.
“Doug Mastriano understands the Constitution. Doug Mastriano understood, hey, Teddy got accused of something, but he didn't have his day in court yet. So why would I dump a guy who hasn't been proven to do anything wrong," said Daniels.
Daniels says he filed a complaint with the Pennsylvania State Police and there is currently a criminal investigation into alleged false reports filed against him.
We reached out to the attorney for Daniel’s wife, but she has not gotten back to us with a comment. According to the Times Leader, Rolling Stone magazine stands by their article written about Daniels.
