Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) returns to TV alongside Jennifer Garner in The Last Thing He Tole Me on Apple TV+.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau played Jaime Lannister on Game of Thrones for all eight seasons. He showed a lot of dimension as a tarnished knight with a heart of gold (well, heart of silver), so naturally he got plenty of opportunities afterward. His new Netflix movie, the survival drama Against the Ice, is available to stream now.

And the good times keep rolling. Deadline reports that the Danish actor will join Jennifer Garner in The Last Thing He Told Me, a thriller based on the novel by Laura Dave. Check out the official synopsis below:

"Before Owen Michaels disappears, he smuggles a note to his beloved wife of one year: Protect her. Despite her confusion and fear, Hannah Hall knows exactly to whom the note refers—Owen’s sixteen-year-old daughter, Bailey. Bailey, who lost her mother tragically as a child. Bailey, who wants absolutely nothing to do with her new stepmother. As Hannah’s increasingly desperate calls to Owen go unanswered, as the FBI arrests Owen’s boss, as a US marshal and federal agents arrive at her Sausalito home unannounced, Hannah quickly realizes her husband isn’t who he said he was. And that Bailey just may hold the key to figuring out Owen’s true identity—and why he really disappeared.Hannah and Bailey set out to discover the truth. But as they start putting together the pieces of Owen’s past, they soon realize they’re also building a new future—one neither of them could have anticipated."

We presume that Coster-Waldau is playing Owen and Garner is playing Hannah. Angourie Rice rounds out the main cast as Bailey.

It’ll be fun to see Coster-Waldau back on TV, and in another role that gives him an opportunity to explore the murkier aspects of morality, no less. Garner has been having a nice run too, having recently starred alongside Ryan Reynolds in the very successful Netflix movie The Adam Project.

There’s no release date for The Last Thing He Told Me as yet, but we’ll keep a lookout.
