Mary Mesner works as Outpatient, Charge, and Hospital Nurse: Mary has been with MCMC since 1979. “I really think nursing chose me. I don’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be a nurse. The thought of helping people is what drew me to the profession. I enjoy working in a small community where everyone works together to support the care and the best outcome for all patients.”

Blythe Zeug works as Hospital and Surgery Nurse: Blythe has been with MCMC since 2021. “I wanted to do something in my career that is challenging, interesting, and makes a difference in people’s lives daily.”

Courtney Zins works as Charge and Hospital Nurse: Courtney has been with MCMC since 2017. “I have 2 older sisters that are nurses and I always said I wasn’t going to be a nurse because of that. However, when it came time for me to choose what I wanted to do, I couldn’t imagine doing anything other than nursing. I enjoy caring for others and I find nursing to be an incredibly rewarding profession. I enjoy caring for our community because of how rewarding it is to see my patient’s progress from admission to the day we send them home. Seeing familiar faces in the hospital is very helpful because it allows me to get to know my patients and their medical history to better care for them.”

Deb Knorr works as Hospital Nurse: Deb has been with MCMC since 2003: “I enjoy working at MCMC. There is a strong sense of family and teamwork. The nurses along with the other departments work together for the good of our patients and each other. We are MCMC family!!!

Kim Olafson works as Discharge planner and Utilization Review Nurse (on the left): Kim has been with MCMC since 2006 . “I enjoy caring for people and their families, not only as a caregiver, but also a confidante and trusted advisor and friend. Helping people and their families thru difficult times is very satisfying to me. Spending many years in our community, I have met many people and have had the opportunity to work with many patients and their families which has been very rewarding. I feel I have developed a deep understanding of those in need as they may be a family member, friend, or a neighbor. I have worked my entire nursing career from Public Health Nursing, Home Care and at Murray County Medical Center in this community and I’m looking forward to a few more years before retiring. It has been exciting to see young people that have graduated and have returned back to our community, which has something to say, that our community is a good place to be.”

Karen Honermann works as Cardiac Rehab and Performance Improvement Nurse (on the right): Karen has been with MCMC since 1981. “I love nursing because there are so many opportunities to care! Sometimes it’s physical, sometimes it’s emotional, sometimes it’s something as simple as a smile! I love caring for this community because I consider them family! In my 40+ year career here at MCMC, I’ve been blessed to serve some wonderful folks!”
