(WWJ) – A Michigan man who was busted for dealing meth back in March has been arrested again for violating his bond and carrying a concealed weapon in Northern Michigan.

Michiel Doughty, 41, was out on bond when a Missaukee County sheriff’s deputy pulled him over on May 1 and caught him with a gun, a violation of his release terms.

The Saginaw man was arraigned Monday on the following charges: carrying concealed weapon and the unlawful use of a license plate, allowing an unlicensed, suspended, revoked, or denied person to operate.

Back on March 16, the Traverse Narcotics Team (TNT) received an anonymous tip that Doughty was transporting a large amount of meth from the Saginaw area to the Lake City area.

The next day, TNT detectives spotted his vehicle in Lake City – just northeast of Cadillac – and Michigan State Police troopers pulled him over for an equipment violation.

During the roadside investigation, troopers got consent from Doughty to search his car. That’s when they found a loaded pistol in the vehicle’s interior headliner. They also found about 25 grams of meth hidden under the gear shifter housing area.

He was arraigned on March 18 in Lake City on numerous charges, including possession with intent to deliver meth, felony firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, maintaining a drug house/vehicle and driving with a suspended license.

Doughty was given a $50,000 cash/surety bond and released.

Fast forward a little more than a month, and he was in trouble with the law again. He was given a $5,000 cash/surety bond at his May 2 arraignment.
