Patrick Dempsey, best known for his role of Doctor McDreamy on Grey's Anatomy, will be honored by the Portland Sea Dogs on May 25th.

According to WMTW, and the Portland Sea Dogs Facebook page, the minor league baseball team plans to honor the veteran actor and philanthropist during the Sea Dogs Wednesday, May 25th game against the Somerset Patriots.

Based on the images posted to social media, it looks like the Dempsey bobblehead will feature the actor riding a bicycle.  Appropriate, given the Dempsey Challenge features people riding bikes in order to raise money to help those battling cancer.

For those who are unfamiliar, after watching his mother battle cancer, the actor stepped up to help those who are going through the same things she went through.  The Dempsey Center provides support for those battling cancer and for their family and loved ones.  This includes everything from counseling to massages, to consultations.

The largest fundraiser for the center is the Dempsey Challenge.  In 2021, participants raised over $1.5 million for the center.

The 2022 Dempsey Challenge will be held on September 24th and September 25th.  If you want to participate or you just want to make a donation, you can get all the details HERE.

Tickets are still available for the game.  Get all the details from the Portland Sea Dogs website.
