General Hospital star Steve Burton separates from wife, says she's pregnant with someone else's baby

"The child is not mine," the actor wrote on Instagram.

Former General Hospital star Steve Burton has opened up about the end of his 23-year romance with fitness coach Sheree Burton after alleging that his pregnant wife is carrying someone else's baby.

"I wanted to clear something up. Sheree and I are separated. She recently announced that she's expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine," the 51-year-old actor wrote Wednesday on his Instagram Story, noting that he and Sheree, 47, are committed to taking care of their daughters: Makena, 18; Brooklyn, 7; and son Jack, 16. "We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids. We would appreciate privacy at this time."

EW has reached out to Steve and Sheree Burton for more information, but representatives for the couple did not immediately respond.

The General Hospital star's post follows his 2021 exit from the long-running soap opera after he reportedly refused to comply with the series' COVID vaccine mandate. He filmed his final episode for the show in October, after first joining it as Jason Morgan in 1991.

"Unfortunately, General Hospital has let me go because of the vaccine mandate. I did apply for my medical and religious exemptions, and both of those were denied, which hurts," he said in a November video message. "But this is also about personal freedom to me. I don't think anybody should lose their livelihood over this, but, with that being said, you know me, I'll always be grateful for my time at General Hospital. I love it there, I grew up there, I grew up with some of you, so, I'll always be grateful. I believe that when one door closes, multiple doors open."

The series previously dropped Steve's costar Ingo Rademacher — who played Jasper "Jax" Jacks — after he declined to comply with the production's COVID vaccine mandates as well.
