Charlotte Ann Burger Evans, 72, died April 26, 2022 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
A memorial service is scheduled at the Henderson church of Christ at 11 a.m. May 11 at with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. that day.
 She was born on Oct. 25, 1949 to Cecil and Betty Burger in Birmingham, Ala., and lived in Forestdale, Ala., until she married Patrick Newman Evans, Sept. 4, 1969.
They lived in Alabama and Jackson before moving to Henderson in 1980 where Pat taught at Freed-Hardeman University until he retired in 2019.
She was an RN and worked in several different hospitals and nursing homes until she retired in 2009.
She was active in the Plainview church of Christ, working with her husband who is one of the elders.
The Evans went on many foreign and domestic mission trips in addition to giving thousands of dollars to various mission works around the world. She was also involved in Henderson through her work with Freed-Hardeman University and the Civitan Service Club.
She is survived by her husband; their two sons, Brian Evans of Jackson and his daughter, Ella Michelle, and Jeremy (Jaime) Evans of Monroe, N.C. and their two daughters, Anabelle Ryn and Haizel Mae; her siblings, Wayne (Louise “Weezie”) Burger of Denver, Colo., Janice (Mickey) Goolsby of Adamsville, Ala., Ben (Sheila) of Gulf Shores, Ala., and Mike and Diane Evans of Birmingham, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
