Calexico High School teacher recognized by Jimmy Fallon for Teacher Appreciation Day

CALEXICO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - A local teacher was recognized by none other than Jimmy Fallon.

The Tonight Show partnered with Samsung for a heartwarming surprise to inspiring educators in honor of Mother’s Day and National Teachers Day.

The well-deserving moms were surprised by Jimmy himself on Tuesday night's show.

And to top it off, one of those teachers was one from right here in the desert southwest.

Rosa Sandigo is a 9th-12th grade Spanish teacher at Calexico High School.

She's also a mother of three: boy/girl twins and another boy.

Congratulations to Mrs. Sandigo and all of our wonderful teachers.
