The Delaware County Relay for Life is back in-person this year.
The event is set for Friday night, June 24th from 5 to 11 pm at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Manchester.
Committee member Joan Wessels says they’re looking forward to celebrating local cancer survivors – but she wants everyone to know there is a change with those purple cancer survivor t-shirts this year.
The purple cancer survivor t-shirts will need to be pre-ordered.
The last day to order a purple Relay for Life cancer survivor t-shirt is May 18th. The committee will reach out to the survivors once the shirts come in and arrange a pickup time so they have their shirts before the Relay.
Dozens of Delaware County residents who have survived cancer over the years will step forward the night of the Relay to say their name, what kind of cancer they fought and how many years they’ve been a survivor. Wessels says that’s always one of the most special moments of the night.
