DETROIT -- Robbie Grossman is back in the lineup after leaving Sunday’s game with a right hand contusion.

Grossman was hit by a pitch in the second inning and left the game a few minutes later.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said at the time that initial X-rays did not show any fracture.

Grossman will lead off on Tuesday as the Tigers (7-14) open a brief two-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates (9-13) at Comerica Park. The first pitch is 7:10 p.m., although the area has been doused by steady rain all afternoon.

UPDATE: Tuesday night’s game has been rained out and will be rescheduled as part of a traditional doubleheader beginning on Wednesday at 1:10 p.m.

Derek Hill will get another start in center for the Tigers. The four-man bench will be outfielder Akil Baddoo, catcher Eric Haase, infielder Harold Castro and infielder/outfielder Willi Castro.

Tigers right-hander Michael Pineda (1-1, 3.60 ERA) will face Bucs right-hander Bryse Wilson (0-0, 4.70).
