On Monday, the Edmonson County LadyCats defeated the Grayson County Lady Cougars 6-3 in Brownsville.
Alexa Henderson drove in three runs with a single and a double as pitcher Julie Norris threw a five hitter at the Lady Cougars. Lady Cougar shortstop Shelby Davis drove in all three runs for Grayson County with two hits.
Edmonson scored all they would need in the first two innings against starter and loser Josie Sims with five runs. They added an unearned insurance run in the fourth inning. Davis drove in the first run in the third inning with a two-out double, then drove in two more in the fifth with a two-out single.
Sims gave up nine hits on the day, walked no one and struck out two.
