GULSTAN: A TEACHER ACCUSED OF USING RACIST LANGUAGE IN A SACRAMENTO CLASSROOM, CHOSE TO RESIGN. The Kit Carson Elementary School Spanish teacher who was recorded using racial slurs in 2021 has officially resigned, the Sacramento City Unified School District announced Monday.The teacher had been removed shortly following the incident in June 2021 and was placed on administrative leave during the investigation. Officials with the district said the teacher involved chose to resign effective April 30 rather than continue with the “termination proceedings.”“By taking swift and aggressive action in this case Sac City Unified sent a clear message that racist language by district employees will be addressed,” said SCUSD Board of Education President Christina Pritchett in a prepared statement.District Superintendent Jorge Aguilar said the district has implemented anti-racism training for all staff.“But the work cannot end there.
