(Glenwood MN-) A Dayton Ohio man is in the Pope County Jail, accused of coming to Glenwood (MN) to find a teen he met online. Pope County Sheriff Tim Riley says on Friday they received a report of an unknown man at the Minnewaska Area Middle School. Deputies and Glenwood Police were able to quickly locate the man and arrest him at a hotel. An investigation revealed 29-year-old Christian Mackson of Dayton Ohio had traveled to Glenwood for the sole purpose of finding a student he had met online. Mackson appeared in Pope County District Court Monday to face a felony charge of Electronic Communication Relating or Describing Sexual Conduct With a Child. Riley says they encourage parents to engage with their children and keep track of what they are doing online. He says they take all tips about these type of incidents seriously, and says anyone with information about them should contact his agency or their local police.

Riley says working with the Pope County Sheriff's Department on this case were Glenwood Police, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Minnesota Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and Minneapolis Airport Police.
