Phil Collins, as one of the most renowned musicians in history, truly knows how to pick his favorite band and music.

In an interview with Ken Bruce on the BBC Radio series, "Track Of My Years," the Genesis drummer named the artist who inspired him when he was still a young musician.

Before Genesis was formed, Collins was reportedly dedicating his time to listening to his favorite band, The Action. He added that the band's single "Never Ever" in 1967 became one of his favorite tracks.

"The Action. What can I say that I haven't already said before? This is my favorite band. My favorite, absolute favorite. In the '60s I was going to The Marquee Club and I discovered them one night. I went to see them every night they played. I've since got to know them," he said.

The drummer also eventually got the chance to play with The Action when they reformed at The 100 Club. For a fanboy like Collins, the collaboration was a dream come true.

He recalled how he was able to play the songs he heard when he was a teenager. Among The Action's band members, it was reportedly Roger - the drummer - who has a huge influence on him.

They reportedly became friends and reunited with the band again during The Action's 2000 reunion.

Although Collins has unmatched love for the band, The Action never received the same level of success and attention the Genesis has been enjoying. With that, he believed that the band is one of the most underappreciated ones of the 1960s mod movement.

Phil Collins Hits Legal Battle VS Ex Orianne Cevey

Amid his worsening health issues, Collins recently accused his ex-wife of committing fraud.

The musician's attorneys told the court that Cevey has no right to have the proceeds of their Miami Beach waterfront estate. They added that in a 2016 filing, Cevey claimed she was mentally incapable of understanding her divorce settlement from her second husband, Charles Mejjati.

While Cevey insisted that Collins promised her half of their shared Miami house if she split from her ex-husband. However, the drummer has since dismissed the claims.

"There are literally dozens of additional irreconcilable conflicts between Mrs. Bates' position in this case and her pleadings, financial affidavit, and other documents filed in her 2016 divorce from her former husband Charles," the latest filing reads.
