WWE Raw results, recap, grades: RK-Bro forces Roman Reigns into confrontation with Drew McIntyre

WWE

With less than one week until Sunday's WrestleMania Backlash, WWE brought Raw to Greensboro, North Carolina for Raw on Monday night. The Bloodline, consisting of unified champion Roman Reigns and SmackDown tag champions The Usos were in attendance, but that mattered little in a show that did little to further the storylines heading into Backlash.

RK-Bro assisted in forcing Reigns to face Drew McIntyre but nothing much came of the confrontation. In the end, the show provided little insight into Sunday's major event and instead served as a time-killing three-hour mess where nothing of note was accomplished and no stakes were added to Backlash.

CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.

RK-Bro forces Roman Reigns to confront Drew McIntyre

The Bloodline opened the show ready to cut a promo on RK-Bro and Drew McIntyre. After a brief intro by Paul Heyman, Reigns took the microphone. Before he could speak, however, RK-Bro hit the ring, with Randy Orton and Riddle hitting stereo RKOs on The Usos, leaving Reigns alone as they called McIntyre to the ring. RK-Bro left the ring to allow McIntyre to face Reigns alone, with the two men trading blows until The Usos jumped back in the ring, leading to a six-way brawl that was broken up by WWE officials as the show hit a commercial break.

No storyline ran through the entire show as normal, meaning the top story happened up front but was never returned to. Fans who were hoping to find out any additional stipulation involving the WrestleMania Backlash six-man tag were left hanging. Nothing on the show as a whole felt like it mattered in any way and the entire three hours felt like nothing but killing time ahead of Sunday's event. It's hard to get excited about Sunday's show after three meaningless hours. Grade: D

What else happened on WWE Raw?

  • Alpha Academy & Kevin Owens def. The Street Profits & Ezekiel via pinfall when Chad Gable pinned Ezekiel with a cradle. Owens took advantage of a distracted referee to help Gable score the victory.
  • Veer Mahan def. Verne Hanson via submission with a cervical clutch. Another dominant win for Mahan and another match where he continued the attack after the match.
  • AJ Styles def. Damian Priest via pinfall with a roll-up. The match carried a stipulation that Priest would be banned from the WrestleMania Backlash match between Styles and Edge should he lose. After the match, Priest and Edge attacked Styles until Finn Balor ran in to make the save.
  • Theory & The Miz def. Mustafa Ali via pinfall when Miz landed a Skull-Crushing Finale. Before the match, Theory said he talked to Vince McMahon and had Ali's win over Miz from the previous week stricken from the record before saying that Ali's "championship contender match" would be a handicap match. After the bout, Ciampa attacked Ali from behind.
  • Nikki A.S.H pinned Dana Brooke to win the 24/7 championship. Brooke said Reggie needed to get a title rematch to save their marriage.
  • 24/7 Championship – Dana Brooke def. Nikki A.S.H. (c) via pinfall to win the title. After the match, Akira Tozawa, Natalya and R-Truth all tried to pin Brooke to win the title. Reggie then briefly tried to pin Brooke before stopping himself. Despite that, Brooke told Reggie that she wanted a divorce. Later, Doudrop asked Nikki if she was ready to start taking things seriously, to which Nikki said, "Yes."
  • Cody Rhodes interrupted Seth Rollins' self-appointed "appreciation night." Rollins told Rhodes that his father wasn't good enough to be champion and he wasn't either. That led to a brief brawl before Rhodes hit a Cody Cutter to send Rollins out of the ring.
  • Bobby Lashley def. Cedric Alexander via submission with the Hurt Lock. MVP and Omos were watching the match from the entrance ramp.
  • Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair & Asuka def. Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley & Sonya Deville via pinfall when Morgan pinned Deville after hitting Oblivion. Deville was stripped of her powers as WWE official heading into the match while Lynch took offense at Asuka challenging her after she "handed" Asuka her championship when she was pregnant.
