Actress Jossara Jinaro died on April 27 at the age of 48 after a battle with cancer. “Josarra was an amazing wife, mother, artist, and friend,” her husband, Matt Bogado, posted on Facebook. “She had the most beautiful, kind soul and wouldn’t take no for an answer. Even in her last moments, she was still fighting.

“She is now resting in peace and will be remembered forever,” he continued. “Myself, Liam, and Emrys will miss her so deeply, although we know she is in our hearts and guiding us every step of the way.” He also reported that a public memorial service would be held in the Bay Area, with details to come.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Jinaro could be seen in shows like the Telemundo comedy VIVA VEGAS, PBS’ AMERICAN FAMILY, ER, and JUDGING AMY as well as films like Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects. But soap fans will remember the actress for her role as Rae on the NBC sudser PASSIONS, where she played Rae, Simone’s first female lover. Although initially wary, Rae eventually fell for her, but their budding relationship was cut short when Rae was tragically murdered. For her work in the role, Jinaro was nominated for a GLAAD award in 2006.
