Duke basketball coaches in contact with another potent transfer

Duke basketball may seek a guard who averaged more than 20 points per game.

The Duke basketball staff is clearly on the prowl for one more crucial piece to the 2022-23 roster. And the two-guard spot appears to be the hole the Blue Devils are looking to fill, under the assumption that Trevor Keels will remain an NBA Draft entrant (he has until June 1 to withdraw his name) after his promising freshman campaign in Durham.

A starting job could be up for grabs. So it makes sense that the list of transfers drawing Duke’s attention is growing at the wing position.

Now, add Missouri State transfer Isiaih Mosley to that group. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound prolific guard has two years of eligibility remaining and can play right away next season.

Suitors galore for the potential Duke basketball target

According to a tweet on Sunday from Travis Graf of Rivals, Isiaih Mosley has recently heard from DePaul, Duke, Kansas, Louisville, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas Tech, among others. Meanwhile, he hasn’t given any indication of a rush in choosing his next destination.

Despite the reported interest coming out of Durham, Mosley nor anyone else has yet to confirm that he holds an offer from the Blue Devils.

As with many players of his caliber in the transfer portal, the two-time First Team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection has entered his name into the NBA Draft while keeping his eligibility and option to remain in college intact.

Last season, Mosley averaged 20.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 50.4 percent from the field, 42.7 percent beyond the arc, and 90.2 percent from the foul line for a Bears squad that finished 23-11 overall (13-5 MVC).

With all of that in mind, it’s safe to say Isiaih Mosley could provide Duke with a potent, experienced perimeter playmaker.
