PBR Announces Vinny Rottino as New Wisconsin Scouting Director

The 21st annual Prep Baseball Report Super 60 is Sunday February 5th in McCook, Illinois. This prestigious, invitation-only event features only the top draft prospects in the Prep Baseball Report’s expansive coverage area. Over the last 20 years, the Super 60 has become the most heavily scouted preseason event for potential draft picks. The primary purpose of the Super 60 is to give professional area scouts, cross-checkers and scouting directors a head start to the high school season.

The PBR Wisconsin staff hosted more than 20 showcases in 2022 – from invite-only events for select prospects, events for incoming freshmen, unsigned seniors, and the list goes on. Before we close the book on 2022 for good, we're going to check out some of the top showcase performances of last year.

On Sunday, January 29th, PBR Colorado hosted its first showcase of the 2023 season, the PBR Colorado Scout Day, at Hit Dingers Baseball Academy in Arvada, Colorado. The event featured 18 players from the 2023-2026 classes and was the final showcase ahead of our trio of Preseason ID events, beginning next week in Superior, Colorado for the Northern Colorado Preseason ID.

We stay in the Richmond area for the next Winter Uncommitted Profile Spotlight. Benedictine left-hander and outfielder, Elijah Coston, is the next feature in our twenty player spotlight series. Coston has taken some considerable jumps in the velo and strength departments over the past year. Long, athletic frame with high upside and room to add polish on the mound and at the plate.

The 2023 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, our staff is excited for the upcoming spring season. Players and coaches have been working all fall and through December, in preparation for the upcoming season and as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Louisiana.

Madison, MS - The Mississippi Preseason All-State was held Saturday, January 21st at the Southern Performance Institute in Madison, MS. This was an open event that consisted of prospects from the 2023-2026 classes. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman and Blast Motion, ran the 30 yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw in simulated bullpens during the workout and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Saturday.
