Nearly a week after his visit to the Granite State, Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson said again he's not ruling out a run for president in 2024.
The Republican reiterated he was considering a run during an appearance on CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday.
He said his decision will not be affected by whether or not former President Donald Trump decides to run again.
"I've made it clear. I think we ought to have a different direction in the future. I'm not aligned with him on some of his endorsements and also the direction he wants to take our country," Hutchinson said.
Hutchinson was in New Hampshire last month to headline a "Politics and Eggs" event and said he wanted to support "problem solver" GOP candidates ahead of this year's mid-term elections.
During a recent appearance on "CloseUp," Hutchinson told WMUR political director Adam Sexton he would make a decision about a possible White House run after this November's elections.
"It would be an obvious fact to state that I'm going to be in New Hampshire because I am concerned about our national direction and yes, I am concerned about 2024 and if you want to have a message that resonates, then you need to be in New Hampshire and I am coming because you are independent. You think through these issues and I think that is an example for the nation. So, I'm wide open there. It is something under consideration. We will see how that develops," Hutchinson said.
