'Came out of nowhere': Family farm in Cass County damaged by severe weather
The National Weather Service confirms two EF1 tornadoes touched down in Otoe County Friday night. But other areas outside of the twister's paths also felt the strength of the storms. A family in Cass County says the storms destroyed one of the buildings on their farm.

Dozens of nails sticking out of a piece of wood. The building that sat on top was ripped straight off of the foundation and over a smaller barn.
"You can be ready for it but you're not," John Knabe said.
And it landed about 100 yards away, right on Knabe's house.
"Everybody take warning. You can say it ain't gonna happen you but it will," Knabe said.
Knabe was home at the time and thought maybe some tin hit his house. But never imagined this.
His granddaughter Krystl lives across the pasture.
"I had gotten home, got the car in the garage and I no more than got into the living room and we just heard a loud bang," Knabe said.
Then she got the call from her grandfather to help.
"So this really came out of nowhere within just a few minutes. The sirens never did go off in our area. So it's pretty alarming how quickly storms can just come out of nowhere," Knabe sajid.
Knabe believes a small tornado could have been responsible. She said she hopes emergency managers will review the damage.
"It's hard for me to believe that just wind did this but crazy things happen with weather," Knabe said.
Now they wait on insurance inspectors before they can pull anything away from the house.
"It's happened before unfortunately here on our farm and we'll clean it up and keep going," Knabe said.
