Descendants star Sofia Carson has shared a first look at her new Netflix movie Purple Hearts, giving us a glimpse at her character.
Carson is taking on the role of aspiring singer-songwriter Cassie in the romantic movie, while Nicholas Galitzine is starring as troubled marine Luke, with the unlikely couple pushed together against the odds.
Carson, who played the daughter of the Evil Queen Evie in the Descendants movies, has shared a photo of her character on Twitter, in which she is playing the piano and singing with her eyes closed, as she gets into the zone.

"Cassie..." she wrote alongside a purple heart emoji. "July 29th cannot come soon enough."
The Netflix Twitter account has also teased some further details about the upcoming film as part of a thread promoting its summer movie schedule.
"PURPLE HEARTS (July 29)," it wrote. "A struggling singer-songwriter (@SofiaCarson) and a marine with a troubled past (@nickgalitzine) enter a marriage of convenience, falling hopelessly in love against all odds. With original songs written and produced by Sofia Carson and @justtranter".
Galitzine, who has replaced Riverdale actor Charles Melton as Luke since the movie was first announced, also shared his own first look at the film, tweeting a picture of himself and Carson in an embrace.
Purple Hearts, which is adapted from Tess Wakefield's novel of the same name, will also have a soundtrack written and produced by Carson.
Director Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum has dubbed the movie a "romance for the ages", adding: "Purple Hearts provides hope that two people with such differing world views, stuck in the same place, forced to fight the same fight, might be able to learn a little about each other's beliefs, get over their own bulls**t, start to understand each other and just maybe fall in love.
"It's a very timely, emotional story."
Purple Hearts will be released on July 29 on Netflix.
