STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) - A large-scale fight involving multiple people broke out at Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights on Friday evening, sending one teen to the hospital for a possible broken nose, officials confirmed.

Lt. Mario Bastianelli, spokesman for the Sterling Heights Police Department, told WWJ Newsradio 950's Erin Vee that two separate fights broke out among groups of kids attending the Shelby Lions Leader Dog Carnival.

Deputies with the Macomb County Sheriff's Office worked the scene along with officers from the Sterling Heights Police Department.

This is the second night of the event scheduled to run through Sunday, May 8 at the mall located on 14000 Lakeside Cir., according to event organizers.

Bastianelli said one minor was transported to the hospital for a suspected broken nose.

No arrests have been made at this time and no other injuries were reported, Bastianelli said.

The carnival, which draws attendees from around Metro Detroit, was reportedly dispersed by deputies and a large police presence was noted by witnesses.

Bastianelli said police would be at the carnival on Saturday and Sunday as a precaution.

No other information about the incident was immediately released.
