Former East Carroll Parish Sheriff, 84-year-old Dale Rinicker was arrested Thursday in West Monroe after he was asked to leave a convenience store for allegedly making lewd comments to female employees. Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Glen Springfield said after multiple requests to leave the store deputies arrested Rinicker for trespassing.
“During the time that he was being arrested, he resisted the deputies and made some verbal threats toward them, basically he’d commit battery on them by kicking them in the head if he caught them out of uniform,” said Springfield.
Even though Rinicker threatened officers during the arrest Springfield said he was taken to the Ouachita Correctional Center and charged with Criminal Trespass and two counts of Resisting an Officer.
“At this point, he wasn’t charged, that would be intimidating an officer, but he wasn’t charged with that, he was just charged with criminal trespassing and resisting,” said Springfield.
In 1997 Rinicker pleaded guilty to taking kickbacks from a manager of a private prison in Lake Providence.
