Houser was recalled from AHL Rochester on Friday.
Fellow goalie Aaron Dell was among the players sent down in a corresponding move. Dustin Tokarski played Thursday and Craig Anderson (undisclosed) may not be healthy enough to play, so Houser could get the start for Friday's season finale against Chicago. The Sabres have yet to announce their goalie for Friday's game.
