WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA) - The Sheriff of Washington County says multiple injuries were the result of an accident involving ATVs Saturday.
In a post to the department's Facebook page, Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran says the accident happened on Sparta Davisboro Road.
Multiple agencies, including the Washington County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia State Patrol, responded to the scene.
The Georgia State Patrol tells WGXA News the accident happened on private property in an RV park. The driver of an ATV and the driver of a dirt bike were traveling in opposite directions and didn't see each other. They hit head-on. Neither driver was wearing a helmet.
Medical helicopters were brought in to transport the victims. The 13-year-old driver of the ATV and the 25-year-old driver of the dirt bike both sustained serious head injuries. Both remain hospitalized.
