Christie Brinkley is hitting the beach to share an important message.

On April 25, the 68-year-old model and actress posted an Instagram reel of herself frolicking in a shallow pool of water near the ocean. Set to The Cranberries' song "Dream," the clip shows Christie throwing back a smile and doing a little dance while flaunting her dark turquoise one-piece bathing suit and a white coverup.

While the clip itself seemed carefree, Christie's caption included a powerful message from marine biologist Sylvia Earle:

"People ask: Why should I care about the ocean? Because the ocean is the cornerstone of earth's life support system, it shapes climate and weather. It holds most of life on earth. 97% of earth's water is there. It's the blue heart of the planet - we should take care of our heart. It's what makes life possible for us. We still have a really good chance to make things better than they are. They won't get better unless we take the action and inspire others to do the same thing. No one is without power. Everybody has the capacity to do something," it read.

Responding to Christie's Instagram reel, fans praised both the actress and the message shared. "You are the cutest!! Always looking out for our planet! 💙🙏🏼🌎😘," one fan noted in the comments section. "You are so gorgeous Christie and adore your caring personality of all beautiful things on earth 🌍💙🌊🐚🐠🦞🌊💙🌍," another said. "You are awesome 🌊🌴🌊💕thanks for caring we all should be actioning change," another commented.

It's no surprise that Christie would use her platform to share such a crucial message. The model has long been a supporter of charities and organizations dedicated to making the planet a better place, including Green Peace and The Wilderness Society.

When it comes to staying fit, Christie once told NBC that goofing around with her 23-year-old daughter, Sailor Brinkley Cook, keeps her moving and smiling.

"My favorite thing of all is when Sailor is home and she’s dancing and I go in and try to imitate her moves because I can’t dance and I end up laughing so hard, so that works my stomach," she said. "I was in the best shape of my life when I was in Chicago because of the dancing. It’s the best. But I also love skiing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, biking ... I think spin classes are really great."
