A lower-calorie version of an alcoholic Arnold Palmer will be available in stores in 15 states, including Massachusetts and others in New England, in May.
Called Arnold Palmer Spiked Lite, it is a “refreshed version of the classic half iced tea, half lemonade [flavored malt beverage] made in partnership with AriZona,” according to Molson Coors Beverage Company.
Molson Coors encompasses Coors Light, Miller Light, Molson Canadian, Blue Moon Belgian White Beer, among other beverages.
The company made a “successful national debut” of the original Arnold Palmer Spiked Half & Half in 2018 it said, adding that the new product will arrive “just in time for summer” calling it “lighter and ultra refreshing.”
Arnold Palmer Spiked Lite is 100 calories and has two grams of sugar per 12 ounces with a 4.5% ABV, the company said.
“Available in sleek 12 oz slim cans, Arnold Palmer Spiked Lite will be available in 12-packs or as a 24oz single-can, making it the ideal, easy-drinking option for any summer occasion,” it added.
“When we launched Arnold Palmer Spiked nearly four years ago, we introduced drinkers to a spiked version of the classic Arnold Palmer taste and it instantly became a fan favorite,” Joy Ghosh, vice president of above premium beer and flavored malt beverages at Molson Coors said, according to the release.
Ghosh added that the lower-calorie option “doesn’t compromise on the classic Arnold Palmer Spiked flavor.”
