Congresswoman Val Demings criticizes decision to dissolve Reedy Creek
Congresswoman Val Demings says it's time to get back to business as usual and "stop playing political games with working people."
Walt Disney's Reedy Creek Improvement District is in Demings’ tenth congressional district.
Demings says any disruptions will directly and negatively impact the jobs, livelihoods and pensions of firefighters, paramedics and other emergency services the district provides to protect guests and residents.

She added that Disney employs more than 80,000 individuals.
“Millions of people come from around the world to experience Walt Disney World every year. Disney is good for Florida and so Gail, I have to tell you I've just been very disappointed with the political games that I believe we're seeing,” Demings said.
"When you think about those services, someone would have to pay for those services if Reedy Creek was dissolved, and it would either be Disney or the taxpayers and certainly, it should not be the taxpayers of Orange County — people who have to go to work every day,” she added.

Demings says the decision to dissolve Reedy Creek was not well thought out or planned.
