Alongside the USUE baseball team, the Eagles softball team traveled to Rangely, Colorado to take on the winless Colorado Northwestern Spartans. The Eagles showed no faults as they took care of business with a sweep over the Spartans.

In a rainy game one, the Eagles took care of the Spartans 9-0 to get things started in Rangely.

An offensive onslaught was featured in a 19-3 throttling by Eastern. The Eagles put together 19 runs on 23 hits. 12 of the 19 runs were scored in the top of the fifth inning. Avery Nelson led the team with four RBIs while Gracie Christiansen and Malorie Luck each had three. 13 Eagles had at least one at-bat during the game and 11 of them were able to drive in a run. Sydney Smith received much help in the circle. Smith, however, dominated the game with just one run allowed on one hit in four innings. Smith also stuck out three and walked three. Oakley Giacoletto finished the game in the bottom of the fifth after giving up two runs on two hits and a walk.

The Eagles continued their offensive clinic with eight more runs in game three, on 12 hits, in a 8-3 victory. Marissa Bowman got things started in the top of the first with a two-run home run to put Eastern up 2-0. Ally Oyanguren would homer in the third to make it 3-1 before Quaylee Smuin added a home run of her own in the fourth inning. Oakley Giacoletto would become the fourth Eagle to homer in the game in the sixth inning with a solo shot. Madie Luck was given the nod in the circle for game three, and Luck delivered. Madie tossed a complete game in which she gave up just three runs on six hits. While Madie had six walks, she also finished the game with five strikeouts.

The sweep was completed in game four as the Eagles put up double-digit runs once again in a 12-3 domination of CNCC. Emma Marchant got the start in the blowout win, but threw just three innings and allowed three runs on four hits. Marchant also had three strikeouts and three walks. Oakley Giacoletto made her second appearance in the circle of the series to throw the final two innings. She shut down the Spartans, allowing just two hits and one walk. The Eagles, who had 16 hits in the game, scored in every inning, but the fifth in the five-inning mercy-rule victory. MacKenzie Wright led the way for the Eagles offensively with a 4-4, 2 RBI day. Zoey Rose added four RBIs on a 3-4 day, including a two-run home run. Marissa Bowman had three RBIs to help fuel Eastern.

Upcoming this week, the Eagles will return home for their regular season home finale. Eastern will welcome the conference-leading Golden Eagles from Southern Idaho for a four-game series. USU Eastern sits in third place of the SWAC conference standings, and five games behind SLCC with eight games remaining. First pitch will be thrown from the Carbon County Fairgrounds at 1:00PM to kick off a doubleheader.
