Milano, Comtois each notch 2 points in 5-2 win

SAN JOSE --Max Comtois and Sonny Milano each had a goal and an assist for the Anaheim Ducks in a 5-2 win against the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center on Tuesday.

"We scored at opportune times," Anaheim coach Dallas Eakins said. "We didn't start out great but got better as the game went on. We haven't faulted our team at all with the way we've worked since the trade deadline. I think our guys have worked hard and stuck together the best they can."
Trevor Zegras scored his 23rd goal, and Anthony Stolarz made 31 saves for the Ducks (31-36-14), who had lost three straight.
"Obviously, the [standings] aren't what we want," Stolarz said. "But at the end of the day, you look at the majority of the games and we're playing hard, battling hard against good teams. L.A. [Kings] and San Jose, we know that these are our rivals. No matter what, we're competitive guys."

Brent Burns and Scott Reedy scored, and Kaapo Kahkonen made 26 saves for the Sharks (32-36-12), who had won three of four.
"I was okay with our game, I really was," San Jose coach Bob Boughner said. "I felt like they capitalized on their chances and we didn't. Stolarz played well. I just thought it was one of those games. It would have been nice to win our last home game but we just couldn't find that goal we needed early."
Zegras gave Anaheim a 1-0 lead at 4:05 of the first period when his shot from the short side beat Kahkonen high on a power play.
Troy Terry appeared to make it 2-0 at 13:13, but the goal was nullified when video review determined Terry kicked the puck into the net.

ANA@SJS: Comtois caps give-and-go play for his 5th

Comtois made it 2-0 at 5:26 of the second period five seconds after a Sharks power play expired.
"We know obviously those games don't mean anything for our team in the standings, but for me, I want to play good and I want to have momentum going into the summer for my workout," Comtois said.
Milano extended the lead to 3-0 at 6:22 after he was set up by Terry.
"Going down three goals is never ideal, but we clawed our way back into the game," San Jose forward Matt Nieto said. "Unfortunately, we couldn't get the equalizer and get a point or two out of that game."

ANA@SJS: Reedy tips in Megna's shot

Burns cut it to 3-1 at 15:32 with a shot from the blue line on a power play.
Reedy brought San Jose within 3-2 at 18:36 when he redirected a shot by Jaycob Megna.
Josh Mahura made it 4-2 at 10:47 of the third period following a pass by Milano.
"We scored two and we got back into the game," Boughner said. "We came out in the third period, our first three or four shifts were exactly what we wanted, we stepped on the gas. Then we missed a couple of open nets and their next chance they came down and stung us and [we were] chasing this game again."
Zach Aston-Reese scored into an empty net at 19:18 for the 5-2 final.
"We've been in a lot of good games, we've been in a lot of hard games," Boughner said of the season coming to an end. "We've lost a lot of games by one goal. I think I counted the other day, including overtime and shootouts and games where we had to pull our goalie, I believe it was over 25. Those are a lot of valuable points."
NOTES: Burns scored his 10th goal of the season, the 11th time in his NHL career he has scored 10 or more goals.
