ESPN's Mina Kimes breaks down New England Patriots' needs in 2022 NFL draft

ESPN's Mina Kimes breaks down New England Patriots' needs in 2022 NFL draft
I've got them needing *** cornerback, which is pretty obvious I think with JC Jackson walking out the door with *** lot of talent walking off the door over the last couple of years, that's *** pretty thin position group for them. And despite the trade for Devante Parker again, wide receiver, which feels like *** perpetual need with this team edge to me is another possibility or just any way they can get younger and faster on the defensive front. But where they're picking is fascinating at 21 because really I think they can afford to take the best player available at any of those positions. You know, if someone like chris Olave is there, I might be inclined to go wide receiver even though I think cornerback is *** greater need. So it gives them, I think the opportunity to get *** core contributor for *** number of years now, Bill Belichick doesn't get criticized *** lot in New England, but if there is an area where he is criticized *** bit even by team owner robert Kraft who recently said that the patriots haven't done the greatest job in the draft recently. Um, how desperately does he need does Belichick need to rebound from some bad drafts in recent years. I think it's *** fair criticism. I also think the craft subtle shade kind of flew under the radar *** little bit, but I found that really fascinating. But you know, when you look at the draft history, while I understand there's been *** fair amount of mrs. Um, there's *** lot to like over the last couple of years in particular. I mean, last season alone or last draft alone, looking at Mac jones, christian bar more who I thought was *** fabulous pick for them. Remanded, remanded Stevenson all successes and then some of the offensive lineman taken in recent years, *** bargain like Michael and we knew, of course Isaiah Wynn still being *** meaningful contributor to them. You know, I do see enough to not really really criticize Bill Belichick because he's had some successes. But I think, you know, as we discussed, there are some really significant holes on this roster. There's *** major need to get younger on defense. And I think this draft will be key towards fixing some of those issues on that side of the ball.
