Song Joong Ki Reveals the Harsh World of Being a Rookie Actor

With his global popularity and countless recognitions and achievements, who would have thought that Song Joong Ji once considered himself as a "nobody" in the industry.

At the time, he struggled to find projects because he didn't have an agency then. Song Joong Ki also mentioned accepting minor roles like being an extra in a particular scene.

However, after some hardships, he managed to land a project and appeared as a reporter with only a few lines in Get Karl! Oh Soo Jung.

As noted by Koreaboo, Song Joong Ki was thrilled to play the part, saying, "For the first time, I was given a role with one complete line," considering that having speaking lines in movies and series is something huge for a rookie actor.

Due to this and being someone who is fairly new in the industry, some envied the actor for getting a small part in the drama.

"I was some nobody casted for the role of Reporter Three, and the cast for Reporter One and Two dragged me to the corner while they were setting up for shooting," he said, adding that he was clueless at the time but later on realized that the "competition is fierce in that world."

Despite this, he considered himself the lucky one but admitted that he felt "cathartic" when he said his first line.

Now, Song Joong Ki is headlining blockbuster K-dramas and movies and will return to the small screen with a highly anticipated K-drama, The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate with Shin Hyun Bin.
