Topps to release Baseball NFT Collection

From the time the Topps Company was founded in 1938, its trading cards have been a staple in the baseball collecting world. On Thursday, the company is taking another major step towards changing that card collection world with the release of the 2022 Topps Series 1 Baseball NFT Collection.

Available on ToppsNFTs.com, the collection celebrates baseball’s biggest names with unique Topps card designs and NFT exclusive creations. It’s the first drop in a series of NFT releases for the 2022 MLB season.

This year’s base series includes the 1987 35th Anniversary collection (Base, Chrome rarities), Glitch (Base, Facsimile Signature variants), Generation NOW, Ultra Short Print and Stars of MLB Chrome along with Team Cube 2.0 – an NFT-exclusive product.

“Following last year’s successful Topps Baseball NFT releases, we’re thrilled to bring this fan-favorite collection back for the 2022 season,” Tobin Lent, VP & Global General Manager of Topps Digital Sports & Entertainment at The Topps Company said in a press release. “This highly anticipated release will delight both new and existing collectors, with the return of popular and recognizable products and an exciting update to NFT-exclusive collectibles that showcase top players and teams from around the league.”

The packs will be available for purchase on Thursday at 1 p.m. ET exclusively on ToppsNFTs.com and will come in two different forms.

The standard pack ($25) will have eight cards per pack, with the highest odds to pull common (54.83%), uncommon (22.38%) and rare cards (17.66%). There will only be 25,000 standard packs available, with each pack guaranteeing one rare card.
