A hearing about whether a search warrant served on Santa Rosa Vice Mayor Eddie Alvarez will be unsealed has been delayed. The Press Democrat wants access to the search warrant served after Alvarez left a council meeting on January 11th. It’s connected with a deadly shooting outside the Whiskey Tip Bar last September. Alvarez was at the bar earlier in the night, but left before shots were fired. Santa Rosa police say he isn’t a suspect, but on social media, Alvarez says police are trying to accuse him of “orchestrating a murder” without evidence. Alvarez says he has never met the two men charged with the murder. Yesterday, a judge postponed the hearing to May 10th, following an objection by a defense attorney representing one of the murder suspects.
