Movie based on John Green novel to begin filming in Greater Cincinnati this week
A new movie starts filming in Greater Cincinnati this week.
The movie, called "Turtles All the Way Down," is an adaption of John Green's New York Times best-selling novel.
Green is also known for his book "The Fault in Our Stars," which was turned into a movie and became a box office hit in 2014.
The film stars Isabela Merced and is directed by Hannah Marks from a script by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who served as co-showrunners for "This Is Us" and wrote the screenplay for "Love, Simon."

The movie tells the story of 17-year-old Aza Holmes who was diagnosed with a mental illness and anxiety. The book was Green's first after the massive success of "The Fault in Our Stars."
"We are so excited to have 'Turtles All the Way Down' film here in Cincinnati," Kristen Schlotman, executive director of Film Cincinnati, said in a statement. "With the Regina King film Shirley wrapping up production earlier this month, we're ready to welcome the next feature to Cincinnati to take advantage of our resources of talented cast, skilled crew and prime locations."
Merced already has been in movies like "Instant Family," "Dora and the Lost City of Gold," and "Sicario: Day of the Soldado." She was also in the Netflix thriller "Sweet Girl" with Jason Momoa.
"Turtles All the Way Down" is expected to shoot at various locations throughout Greater Cincinnati during the next two months.
