Edwards Co. courthouse closed during check of ‘suspicious package’

EDWARDS CO., Ill. (WFIE) - The Edwards County Sheriff’s Office tells us the courthouse in Albion is back open, but court is still canceled for the rest of Tuesday.
They say the courthouse was closed while they checked out a suspicious package.
It was spotted just after 8 :00 a.m. near the west doors of the courthouse.
The Sheriff says it was a hand taped box with an “x” on it.
He says there were reports of similar boxes elsewhere in town.
A bomb squad was brought in to investigate, but the Sheriff says it turned out to be a box from the county’s tourism board.
