Animals return to Sibley Park this week

The animals will return to Sibley Park this week after being away over the winter.

By the end of this week, park visitors can expect to see chickens, alpacas, lambs, donkeys, calves, goats, peafowl, pheasants, and turkeys.

At 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, alpacas Diablo and Durango get their wool sheared for the summer.  About five to ten pounds of fleece is usually sheared from the alpaca. The fleece, which is softer than wool, light, and hypo-allergenic, is recycled into yarn and felt.
