Today’s Penn State football news headlines feature a new commitment on the board in the 2023 recruiting class and the next stop for former Lions offensive lineman Anthony Whigan.
The Lions added the 11th commitment in their ‘23 class with an announcement from Conrad Hussey, a three-star safety/athlete from St. Thomas Aquinas in Florida. Hussey is listed at 6-feet and 190 pounds and is the No. 43 safety and No. 486 player overall in the 247Sports composite rankings. He holds offers from Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss and South Carolina, among others, after playing a key role for a state championship team.
Whigan announced on Monday that he was now 100% committed to Akron, where he’ll make a Penn State connection with Moorhead, the Lions’ former offensive coordinator who most recently held the same position at Oregon. Moorhead has taken over an Akron program that is getting busy in the NCAA transfer portal, and now the Zips get a Power 5 offensive line talent in Whigan, who played in 18 games in three seasons at Penn State.
