Albany Museum of Art asks county commissioners for $2 million for relocation project

The Albany Museum of Art is requesting $2 million in special-purpose local-option sales tax (SPLOTS) funds to help with its relocation project.

The museum will relocate from its 311 Meadowlark Drive location to the former Belk department store at 128 and 146 W. Broad Ave.
This request following the recent $8 million requested from the city commission last week.
The funds will allow the museum to double in size and increase accessibility.
