Shota Nakajima Announces Two Dinners with Michael Voltaggio

How's that for Top Chef star power? Two of the show's biggest names will collaborate on a multicourse menu.

By Seattle Met Staff April 25, 2022

Top Chef judge Tom Colicchio once described Michael Voltaggio as the most talented chef to compete on the show, “both from a sensibility and technical standpoint.”

The latest entry in Shota Nakajima’s robust slate of fundraisers brings another notable Top Chef alum to town. Michael Voltaggio, a season six contestant who transcended the early “bad boy who likes foams” pigeonholing to win his season and establish himself in the Bravo firmament, will partner with Nakajima for a pair of dinners in June. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, April 27, at 9am.

On June 2 and 3, the chefs will collab on a multicourse dinner that combines Japanese and Northwest elements. These meals will happen at Sparkman Cellars in Woodinville. Luke Kolpin, Seattle’s current hometown contestant will emcee and throw a surprise course of his own into the mix each night.

Proceeds will benefit World Central Kitchen, which is always deserving of support, but especially now with its frontline work to support Ukraine.

Dinner is $350 per person (given its location, you can expect a solid lineup of wines as part of the meal). Tickets are available in sets of two, four, six, or eight. On Friday, June 3, the chefs will put on an additional $60 pre-funk that includes a Q&A with Nakajima and Voltaggio.

Like most entries in Nakajima’s Cooking with Friends series, this one’s likely to sell out fast. He will post a link to buy tickets on his Instagram account Wednesday morning at 9am.
