The Dunlap Fire Department responded to three separate brush fires on Sunday.

The first was in the Blue Sewanee area, where a land developer burning a pile lost control of the burn.

The Tennessee Forestry assisted in extinguishing the fire due to the terrain.

Next, the Cagle Volunteer Fire Department called Dunlap Fire crews to assist with another burn pile that a homeowner had lost control of, off of Bennie Camp Road.

Firefighters were able to control that burn, with no other assistance needed.

Lastly, Cagle Volunteer Fire Department requested assistance with a fire off of Woodland Ridge, that was threatening a home.

Firefighters responded and were able to extinguish the fire with no loss to property.

All burns were being conducted by land owners that had obtained a state-issued burn permit from the Department of Agriculture.

Also assisting on these scenes were Sequatchie County Sheriff's Department and Sequatchie County Emergency Management.
