Myles Brennan is back at LSU after a stint in the transfer portal, as Brian Kelly convinced the Tigers quarterback to return to the program under new leadership. While the Tigers may be different, Brennan is in the middle of something he knows well — a quarterback competition.

“It’s been fun,” responded Brennan, talking about the competition to ESPN. “Nothing new to me. We’ve gone out and we’ve competed everyday. And we’ve made each other better. That’s all that coach has asked, is that we push each other. If we go out and do our job, everything else will take care of itself.”

“.. There’s going to be one starter at the end of the day, playing against Alabama, Florida, Georgia and all those teams. We’re the guys that’s going to keep them going. When you come over to the sidelines, it’s your brother right there cheering you on. So, it’s a little taste into the future.”

Whether it’s BrennanGarrett NussmeierWalker Howard or Jayden Daniels, the starting quarterback will have plenty of support. Continuing, Brennan spoke about what traits Brian Kelly has that brought him back to LSU.

“He’s an offensive guy,” explained Brennan. “This is a place that I wanted to be to begin with. Coach Kelly came in, and told me what his plans were, and what he was going to do on offense, and Coach [Mike] Denbrock. I felt like it just fit me, and what I did best. So, that’s why I decided to come back.”

Brennan continued to praise offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock: “This is what he believes in, and this is what he’s done at Cincinnati. They’ve had a lot of success. He had Desmond Ridder at Cincinnati, and he brings a lot of energy though, and a lot of passion. He enjoys what he does, and he wants to make sure that we understand and really get a grasp of the offense as much as he does.”

Finally, Brennan revealed how Brian Kelly is changing the culture at LSU.

“Accountability,” responded Brennan, when asked what’s different under Kelly. “For everything you do. And attention to detail. All around our facility, it’s all about accountability. Being accountable to each other, and respecting the brotherhood. If we do those, everything else will take care of itself.”

Evidently, Myles Brennan sees how things are different under Brian Kelly. The LSU quarterback is feeling like he made the right decision in returning to the Tigers.
