Jasiel Correia II’s latest try to avoid checking into a Club Fed, currently set for this Friday per Quincy Quarry’s unofficial count of seven prior delays, was filed in Federal Count in Boston yesterday.
In a development that the denizens of Quincy’s City Hall should be monitoring closely, this time U.S. Attorney for the Massachusetts District Rachael S. Rollins, through U.S. Assistant Attorney Mark Quinlivan, filed a 40-page opposition motion to the U.S. First Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday past asking that former Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia II finally be ordered to begin serving his six-year sentence over multiple convictions tied to corruption while he was in office.
In turn, on Monday Correia’s attorneys asked the appellate court to overturn federal District Court Judge Douglas Woodlock’s decision denying Correia bail pending his (all but assuredly doomed, ed.) appeal for a new trial.

Conversely, federal prosecutors argued that there is no “substantial question” of law that provides a basis to continue to postpone his checking into the mostly medium-security Berlin New Hampshire Club Fed for half a dozen years, less potential credit for good behavior while incarcerated.
As one can only assume that federal appellate court judges are surely at least approaching their basta points with Correia, Jaseil had better duly pack for an extended stay so as to be able to cover his six.
