Southeast Iowa man faces multiple charges, including burglary and trespassing

WAPELLO COUNTY, Iowa —

A southeast Iowa man is facing multiple charges following a report of a suspicious man.

Just before 6 a.m. Thursday, Wapello County sheriff's deputies were called for a report of a man sitting on the hood of a vehicle in the ditch on 230th Ave., east of Blakesburg, Iowa.

Deputies were unable to locate the man but were told by a citizen that he had given two men a ride to Blakesburg.

The men were located and as a result of an investigation, John Paul Miller, 41, of Cincinnati, Iowa, was arrested and charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony, Burglary 3rd Degree Theft from Auto, an Aggravated Misdemeanor, and Criminal Mischief and Criminal Trespass, both Simple Misdemeanors.

Miller is currently being held in the Wapello County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
