Court records said a Clay County man has been charged after he allegedly said Child Protective Services workers should be taken out in the street and shot in the head and punched in the face.
James Preston McCune Jr., 41, of Clay was charged Friday with threats of terroristic acts, according to a criminal complaint filed in Clay County Magistrate Court.
The complaint said a state probation officer was drug screening McCune on March 29 when he made the statement about shooting CPS workers.
On April 8, the suspect told a doctor who was doing a psychological exam on him that he wanted to grab CPS workers and repeatedly punch them in the face, the complaint said.
The complaint said the threats were made toward West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources’ CPS workers in Clay County, making the workers fear for their safety.
McCune is currently being held at Central Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond.
