Police have released new details about a man who tried to get away by jumping into Lake Overholser.
Police received a call from a woman who said she had to fight off a man who was trying to steal her car – with two small children in the back. She had no idea she was fighting off a wanted man.

"Fire and EMSA were called in but he simply refused to come into shore,” police said.
They spoke about their efforts to rescue and arrest the man. They gave him a lifejacket and water. Then, the tree branch snapped and he fell into the lake.
"He was taken into custody. As it turns out, he had a warrant out of Caddo County,” police said.
Caddo County said the man was wanted after missing his court date for a charge of obstructing an officer.
