Dancehall-reggae star Tanya Stephens has been confirmed as the headliner of ‘Bamboo Splash Acoustics Live’ which will be held on April 28th at the Bamboo Splash Lawn at 90 Barbican Road in St. Andrew.

Showtime will be 10 p.m.

“This is a highly anticipated show because Tanya Stephens is a marquis performer, very outspoken, and widely regarded as one of the most lyrically gifted female artistes in reggae music ever. The whole industry is buzzing about this live acoustic showcase,” Natalee Jacas, operations coordinator of Bamboo Splash Entertainment, said.

The ‘Acoustics Live’ series, the brainchild of ‘Godfather’ and Jacas, started off with a much talked about event last month which showcased emerging stars Yaksta, 10Tik and Jahshii. Jacas said that there will be live showcases held on the last Thursday of each month with the creme de la creme talent of the reggae industry.

Tanya Stephens is a bonafide hit machine, churning out megahits such as Nuh Ready Fi Dis Yet, It’s a Pity, These Streets, Boom Wuk, What’s Your Story, Pon Di Side and After You. She writes all of her hits.

Stephens is a brilliant songwriter who also pens songs for other artistes, having penned such signature songs as the track Spread Love, which was featured on Etana’s Grammy-nominated album Reggae Forever, and the single, Rock The Cradle, for Sanne Salomonsen from Denmark.

An outspoken advocate for the downtrodden, Stephens has been using her Instagram platform of 89,000 followers as a bully pulpit to voice her concerns about vaccination and to advocate for Jamaicans to boycott businesses that issued mandatory vaccination orders.

Tanya Stephens is also set to release an album soon. The lead single, Diamonds in the Sun, featuring Diana and Cedella, will be released on Tuff Gong Radio this month.
